Smart, strategic design for busy professionals in Ottawa.

I work with homeowners who don’t have time to second-guess their renovation or furnishing decisions. Whether it’s a full home overhaul or a builder layout that needs saving, I’ll help you make smart calls from day one so you don’t waste time, blow your budget, or live with something that bugs you for the next decade.

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

How It Works

Not sure where to start? You don’t have to.

Design doesn’t need to be overwhelming. Here’s what working together looks like.

1. Book a Paid Initial Design Consultation

We’ll walk through your space, your goals, and any decisions already keeping you up at night. You’ll get clarity, strategy, and a professional opinion you can trust.

2. Get a Tailored Plan

I’ll outline the best way forward—whether it’s one-time guidance or full-service design support. Either way, we will come up with a clear roadmap.

3. Move Forward With Confidence

No more “I hope this works.” With a designer who knows what to look for behind the walls and in the final finish, you can feel confident every step of the way.

Who I Work With

Designed for busy homeowners.

Most of my clients are professionals who are building, renovating, or redesigning their entire home. They’re smart, capable, and busy.

They don’t need hand-holding. They do need someone who can see the problems before they happen, simplify the decisions, and make sure the end result feels cohesive, thoughtful, and livable.

MEET KRISTY

THE FOUNDER OF NEST & NOTION

Hi, I’m Kristy. I’m a mechanical engineer by training, which means I live for smart planning, obsessive detail, and knowing how things actually get built. I spent 20 years in medical device manufacturing—so yes, I care deeply about how things are made and how they function.

I’ve also been in the renovation trenches myself, overseeing full gut jobs, builder upgrades, legal basement suites, and everything in between. I don’t just know what looks good. I know what works—and how to make it happen.

Not sure what kind of design decision-maker you are?

Before you dive into tools or upgrades, take a moment to figure out how you make choices.

Are you an Instinctive Picker? A Second-Guesser? A Research Rabbit on a caffeine spiral?

The Picker Personality Quiz is quick, free, and weirdly accurate — and it’ll point you toward the tools (or support) that actually suit your style.

Design Decision Tools

Not every project needs a full designer—but every project needs smart decisions.
